Land for Development
The Town of L'Anse au Loup provides zoning for residential, commercial and industrial land, and currently has land available for development. This includes:
- Residential lots serviced with water and sewer.
- Commercial land that can easily be serviced.

L'Anse au Loup operates in accordance with its 2009 Municipal Plan that is registered under the Urban and Rural Planning Act of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. This plan outlines the goals, objectives and policies of the Town Council and includes land use maps.

Applying for Land
Land is available for development in and around L'Anse au Loup. All available land is crown land that is controlled by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Commercial title to Crown Land may be obtained through an application to Government.
The application can be obtained online at www.gov.nl.ca or at the Town Office. The completed application must be submitted for approval to the Town. Once approved, a recommendation will be provided by the Town. The application and recommendation, along with a fee of $100.00 + HST, must be submitted to the Provincial Land Use office for final approval.
Community Services
Business Support

- Meeting space (conference room and meeting space) available in the Town Hall.
Communications
- DSL Internet access is available throughout the town via our Internet Service Provider, Bell Aliant.
- Full cell phone coverage is available within the town.
- A free wireless hotspot is available at the Town Building.
- A CAP (Community Access Program) Site in the Public Library, in the Town Building, provides access to computers and printers.
- Canada Post is conveniently located in the centre of town.
Waste Management
- The town works with the Regional Waste Authority to provide garbage collection service and waste management.
Water and Sewer
The Town of L'Anse au Loup operates and maintains a sewer system and a water distribution system. The water and sewer system was constructed in 1983 and currently services 80% of households.
- The water system is a gravity flow system and is supplied by L'Anse au Loup Brook. The town is committed to providing clean safe water to residents and continually monitors water quality and water levels to ensure the water system performs at optimal conditions.
- The town's sewer services is a system of piping and pumps requiring maintenance and upgrades on a regular basis. Some areas of the town utilize their own septic systems.
Fire Services
- The town is served by a 22-member Volunteer Fire Brigade.
- Fire fighting equipment, including a pumper truck, jaws of life, AED, pager system is housed at the fire hall, located at the Town Building.
Marine Services
L'Anse au Loup provides marine docking and support services for a variety of medium to large fishing vessels and supply ships, as well as small local boats and pleasure craft. In addition to providing a sheltered port, the L'Anse au Loup Harbour Authority provides staffing and a full range of services including electrical services, laundromat and shower facilities. Services and information can be obtain through the local Harbour Authority office or by contacting the town staff.
