• Office and meeting facilities are available at the Town Building and our local hotel, the Ocean View Resort.

Communications

• DSL Internet access is available throughout the town via our Internet Service Provider, Bell Aliant.
• Limited cell phone coverage is available within the town.
• A free wireless hotspot is available at the Town Building.
• A CAP (Community Access Program) Site in the Town Building provides access to computers and printers.
• The post office is also conveniently located in the Town Building.

Waste Management

• The Town works with the Regional Waste Authority to provide garbage collection service and waste management.

Water and Sewer

• Three artesian wells are incorporated in the town's water supply system. Extra capacity is available as required.
• A water quality testing process is performed monthly through Labrador-Grenfell Health Services.
• The municipal sewer system treats and stores waste, and is serviced annually.

Fire Services

• The town is served by a Volunteer Fire Brigade.
• Fire fighting equipment is housed at the fire hall, located at the Town Building.

Emergency Plan

• West St Modeste works with surrounding communities for implementation of a Regional Emergency Plan.

Recreation

• West St Modeste is located just seven kilometres by road from the Pinware River, a reknown location for Atlantic salmon angling.
• A developed walking trail in the town provides for regular outdoor activity and links to the extensive Labrador Pioneer Footpath.
• A Youth Centre, located at the Town Building, provides an indoor gathering place for young people. There is an outdoor playground with a basketball court.

The Town of West St Modeste has adopted a flat-rate tax structure rather than a mill-rate structure.

• Residential Tax: residents pay $225 annually.
• Commercial Tax / Business Tax: is based on minimum $500 per year.
• Water/Sewer Tax: $410 annually per household/business.
